Rock Metal Trail first ride…
After long weeks of work and loads of dirt moved, the “Rock Metal Trail” in PEF’s backyard saw finally the first session coming up yesterday…”Han Solo” PEF and “little skywalker” Louis Reboul were the first ones to clear the line and killed as much as they could ’till the sun finally went down…
All features of the spot are not shown here because pics are not always giving justice to the real sickness of a jump…wait and see the soon-to-come teaser from the Rock Metal Jam next 28th of August.

I had the chance during my trip to Claymore Challenge to meet with Nick Brandreth, the hyper-active guy behind Thrashbike.com . Despite the fact that Nick is filming (check the video section on thrashbike), he’s also a really good photographer. Claymore Challenge day 2. Qualifications.
Yesterday was the qualification day. This would allow to pick up 14 riders + 2 wild cards. Actually in the result list you will see 17 names. It’s normal as Brandon, Aaron and Cam were already qualified. The level was pretty high, and you can expect a lot from the Finals on Saturday LIVE on LowFi let me remind you….The only little unsure thing is about Alex Pro who get KO after a big crash and get by this way his second head concusion of the week !!!! Maybe better not to ride man !

Here’s some pics from the first day of riding at Claymore Challenge. The course looks perfect and all riders agree to say that it’s a lot of fun…Tomorrow is qualification and i can even tell you that you gonna have a present for the Final on Saturday with a LIVE on LowFi…yes !
“Back in my yard” Jam
One more time, the hyper-active Joscha Forstreuter is coming with a dope event. The “Back in my yard” Jam, is a 4 days, 4 teams, photo/video jam. With a big help from his friends and sponsors, Felt and Adidas, Joscha puts down a really cool concept. Not only riding ! Each team has to make a little gallery of killer shots as well as a 3 min video…For sure good things will come out from this weekend ! Teams gonna be annouced soon…keep posted !

Scandinavian Photocontest by Stef Candé
Last week was the Sandinavian Photocontest in Sweden. The french team including, Yannick Granieri, Pierre Edouard Ferry and Tony Rocci was shot by photographer Stef Candé for the occasion. A slideshow had to be made at the end to choose the winner. Here’s the one from the french team…sick pics, nice work Stef ! It’s actually no the one from the contest, but ore the one that should have be made for…photography contest is all about presentation…
Åre Bike Festival update
Some of the best photographers and riders from the Freeride world are currently competing in Åre for the “Scandinavian Photo Challenge”. “Scott on Air” by Viktor Strasse
Viktor Strasse, who is more famous for his work as BMX photographer, was in Willingen to shoot the “Scott on Air” contest. Super sick shots that you will find just below. Thanks for that Viktor ! You can check his work on his website here. One other thing that is pretty interesting is that Viktor is actually the biggest fan i know from Louis de Funès…ahahahah…

Last weekend was the Sympatex festival in Willingen, a dirt contest, a big festival and a DH race with a lot of WC racers. Pretty cool. The video is on progress, so here’s some little pics from the weekend.

The second part of the Chris Van Dine itw is on ! As you may understand it, there’s not a lot of riders that keep on pushing their sport at 30, dedicated to the riding, the fun of it, doing it with plenty of style…For me this is really a good lesson of life and especially of bike lifestyle, it’s not watching guys like Peaty, Voreis or Mr Hans Rey who gonna make me change my mind ! The Chris Van Dine itw part.1
It’s been a long time that i wanted to make a interview with Chris VanDine. Firstable i really appreciate him as one of the best all-around rider at the moment, fast in DH, stylish in Freeride and sick riding street. Chris really represent what i call a MTB rider. Able to send it on any type of riding. The second thing that make me want to give you this little interview is that Chris is really a GREAT guy. You can really speak hours with him about a lot of things but MTB (not that i don’t like talking about bikes) but it’s what you can call a real character of the scene…Enough talking, enjoy the reading of this first part of the Chris VanDine interview… (more…)
NPJ and “Cheezy Rider”
Niels Peter Jensen, aka NPJ, always had been an hyper-active guy. From top dirt jump rider, to real freerider some years ago, NPJ created then his own brand “NPJdirtbikes”, promoting dirt around Europe, working with magazines, doing TV shows, travelling the world participating to the GumBall and so on….

Last weekend was Austrian King of Dirt, so we finally drive 10 hours with Yannick and Etienne to attend this contest. The weather was really bad, supposed to rain all the time but we were actually pretty lucky, the contest rolled perfectly…. Yannick took the Second place just behind Sam Pilgrim and in front of super stylish Symon.

Maribor WC#1 by Ale DiLullo
Muddy, slippery, the first WC in Maribor was challenging riders a lot…For its first worldcup race, the new SantaCruz carbon took home the win. Minnaar on the higher step, Gee following, Brendan, Fabien Pédemanaud and Hill after. Big up for Fabien, always good when conditions are hard.

T-mobile Playground by David Ulrich
Every year a sick contest is going on in Duisburg : the T-Mobile Extreme Playground. Two categories, BMX and MTB, for each category, a “versus” format, two riders opposed and the best one advance one step further. Martin Södertröm took the victory in MTB, and Anthony Napolitan won the BMX contest. You can go on Freecaster.tv for some video actions, pretty sick contest.
German photographer David Ulrich was covering the event and put out some pretty nice stuff, check this out below. Enjoy !!!

Due to the now super famous volcano (or thanks to ), some riders were forced to stay a little bit more around Vienna after Vienna Air King, simply becasue they could take their plane to go back home. It was the case for Martin, Linus and Sam who join Niki Leitner back home in Vienna. Perfect occasion for a little riding session @Niki’s place, the Dirt Garden.
