Vienna Air King is going big…
I don’t know if it’s the lack of big contest this year and especially the cancellation of Quasqai serie, but it appears that this year Vienna Air King 2009 gonna be amazing. This contest is pretty cool, the location is making a lot for that, downtown Vienna. Boom, you can really tell that this kind of event is making something good to expose the sport to the public eyes.
This year, the starting list is pretty impressive with such riders as Darren Pokoj, Benny Korthaus, Sam Pilgrim, and freeride all stars like Darren Berrecloth or Paul Basagoitia. Don’t forget also all newcomers as Yannick Granieri, Pavel Aloykhin from Russia or Mike Montgomery from the US who showed up some amazing style and skills on webclips.
I gonna be there to cover the event, bring you a little video and some behind the scene flavor so don’t forget to check the website on daily basis from Friday to Sunday for some updates. Check out the event website for more infos.
Decline’s covershot for Joakim.
Hey Hey, my buddy Joakim, whom i spoke about some weeks ago just send me a link to his fresh cover shot for Decline Magazine, congrats man, especially for a euro working with the “Team America” magazine (with Kyle Strait in it by the way, off Specialized and off RedBull…) Joakim is working a lot on the “Barred for Life” project with RockStar Energy Drink. Nike6.0 Russian rider…
Every year, a new comer is popping onto the freeride scene, and everytime it’s the same, all sponsors and medias are rushing on him to sign some big contracts or get the first itw: Paul Bas, The Lacon’s, Lance McD, Martin Soderstrom, Mike Montgomery…and now this guy.
Pasha Vishneviy is coming from Russia, has crazy tricks in his pocket like 3-6 double whip, 720°’s, crazy flat tricks and i’m sure that you gonna hear about him soon….
Leather bike by Jacques Ferrand
As i was surfing on Arkitip’s blogs, i just been really impressed by Jacques Ferrand’s work as he covered up completely a bike frame with leather. Check this out here, it’s pretty amazing, like it or not, the job done is really incredible.

Using the knowledge of Jamie Goldman and Kirt Voreis, SantaCruz Bicycle is releasing a new version of the legendary Jackal’s hardtail frame. I can say that i’m pretty happy about that as i wasn’t a huge fan of the old design. This one looks sick ! Check more details right here. (more…)

Darren Berrecloth is maybe the most influential freerider on earth. Beside the fact that he was one of the first rider to bring some tricks to big freeride, he’s also really involved in the sport, making his own contest and acting as a spokeperson on big events. Vans/Supreme
Supreme will be releasing two new styles of Vans – the Half Cab and the Era. Both styles feature canvas uppers, leather lining and insoles.
These Vans will be released in-store and online on March 19th.

As always, Clay Porter come back this season with one of the nicest film about MTB racing, The Tipping Point. All the best riders in the world, best actions of the season, what else do you need ? Just found this video through the B.Lab website. It’s always good to see riders comitted to their sport like that. Cam Zink went through a lot of injuries and this nice video made by Taylor Sage shows perfectly how strong minded those riders are. Enjoy.
